We are seeking an experienced Fire Protection Professional Engineer (PE) to lead the design, analysis, and implementation of fire protection and life safety systems across a variety of commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. This role provides technical leadership, ensures code compliance, and supports clients in achieving safe, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Fire Protection System Engineering
- Design and develop fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems (e.g., wet/dry sprinkler systems, clean agent systems, fire pumps, mass notification).
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Code Compliance & Life Safety
- Interpret and apply relevant codes and standards (e.g., NFPA, ICC, IBC, IFC, FM Global).
- Conduct building code and life safety analyses, including egress, occupancy classification, and hazard assessments.
- Collaborate with AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to secure approvals.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Lead fire protection portions of multi-disciplinary engineering projects
- Coordinate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors, and clients.
- Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and conduct site visits.
Quality Assurance & Technical Leadership
- Oversee and mentor junior engineers and designers.
- Ensure design accuracy, constructability, and adherence to company standards.
- Perform peer reviews and support internal process improvements.
