    Responsibilities

    • Assisting attorneys with the operational management of files, maintaining master discovery tracking logs, and ensuring the litigation team has continuous visibility into case timelines.
    • Analyzing and organizing voluminous documents to construct detailed case chronologies, leveraging technology and spreadsheets to identify gaps in data and conduct foundational research for subpoenas.
    • Managing case calendars and docketing functions in coordination with central docketing and court systems to ensure compliance with deadlines.
    • Navigating procedural rules to oversee filings in California state and federal courts and serving as a liaison with court clerks to resolve filing inquiries.
    • Managing the lifecycle of subpoenas from initial research and drafting through issuance, tracking, and follow-up.
    • Collaborating with case teams on operational infrastructure to keep files organized and moving forward efficiently.

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience in a professional legal environment managing complex projects or case files, with a track record of meticulous document management, timeline construction, and proactive problem-solving.
    • Demonstrated organizational, multi-tasking, and project management skills, with a proven ability to operate as a self-starter and exercise ownership over caseloads.
    • Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills, with the confidence to actively interface and coordinate with court clerks, vendors, and trial teams.
    • Technical proficiency along with an aptitude for learning new platforms and legal technology.
    • Familiarity with navigating California state court rules, with federal e-filing experience considered a plus.
    • Willingness and desire to work with innovative technology platforms - our employees also have access to Harvey, a legal-specific AI tool that reduces time spent on routine tasks, allowing you to focus on more meaningful, high-impact work.
