    Job description

    Overview

    Production Welder with experience or training capable of performing a variety of welding functions. The individual should be familiar with and capable of using various types of welding equipment. A welder is also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as supervision deems necessary.

    Responsibilities

    • Read and interpret blueprint and work instructions to determine specific welding requirements
    • Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, per blueprint
    • Make adjustment to produce to quality parts to specific dimensions
    • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications
    • Repairs broken or cracked parts and fills holes
    • Position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixtures
    • Tack assemblies together
    • Chips off excess weld, slag, and spatter
    • Clean or de-greases parts
    • Perform all necessary maintenance and repair on all equipment used in welding
    • Be able to move parts in and move finished product out of welding area
    • Bolt, clamp, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding
    • At least eighteen (18) years of age and eligible to work in the United States
    • Able to pass a post offer drug test, background check, and fitness review
    • Demonstrate high attention to detail and self-motivation skills
    • Willing to train, work, and rotate through all department workstations and work in other departments as needed
    • Capable of working in seasonal high temperatures and humidity (conditioned air environment)
    • Experience is a plus but not required

    Working Conditions

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those and employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position may involve potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold), and the employee must be able to work under stress occasioned by production requirements, personnel, and the needs of other departments, utilizing proper body mechanics. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high.

    Physical Requirements

    • 10 hours shift - stand/walk-continuously (8-10 hours)
    • Lift to/from floor-up to 50 lbs. occasionally up to 25 lbs. frequent
    • Lift overhead-up to 20 lbs. rarely (components), 10 lbs. occasionally
    • Lift waist level-up to 50 lbs. occasionally (components), 25 lbs. frequent
    • Two hand carry-up to 30 lbs. for 5 feet, occasionally heavier items
    • One hand carry-2 lbs. for 5 feet occasionally (gun)
    • Twist-rarely and Squat or kneel-occasionally
    • Bend-frequently to reach areas during welding or grinding
    • Firm grasp-continuously (handling equipment); holding gun with dominant hand

    Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, the General Accountant will be responsible for various financial tasks, including daily sales and production reporting, state sales and use tax filings, rebate and commission accruals and reporting, bank reconciliations, general journal posting, and petty cash management. They will also assist with accounts payable and maintain accounting records. This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
