    Job description

Kick-start your CPA in an environment where your work really matters.

As a CPA Articling Student at Manning Elliott, you’ll work on audits for organizations that operate in public-company environments and other reporting issuers. You’ll gain exposure to public reporting standards, tight filing deadlines, and complex engagements — all while being supported by a team that’s invested in your learning and success.

    About Manning Elliott

At Manning Elliott, we believe in the power of people. We’re a team of professionals dedicated to providing exceptional accounting, assurance, tax and advisory services, while building lasting relationships with our clients and within our communities. Our culture is built on collaboration, continuous learning, and making a positive impact — for our clients, our people, and the communities we serve.

If you're looking for a place where you can grow your skills, work with supportive teammates, and build real world relationships with clients, you'll feel at home here.

    The Role

In this role, you’ll develop as an auditor working in complex, high-accountability environments where accuracy, transparency, and accountability are critical. You’ll primarily support audit engagements for publicly listed companies and other entities with public reporting obligations.

Student opportunities for the Pre-Approved External Audit Path are available starting September 2027.

    What You'll Do

    • Participate as an integral team member on audit engagements for organizations that operate under public-company-style reporting requirements.
    • Learn how to perform audit procedures in environments that demand rigor, clear documentation, and strong attention to detail.
    • Leverage leading audit tools and technology to test controls, analyze data, and support high-quality financial statement audits.
    • Develop a deep understanding of clients’ business models, key processes, and reporting obligations, and how your work contributes to reliable financial information.
    • Develop your professional judgement and critical thinking by working through complex issues with seniors and managers.
    • Collaborate closely with your team, ask questions often, and participate in debriefs and coaching conversations so you’re always learning.
    • Stay organized and manage your tasks so you can meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
    • Participate in firm-wide initiatives, training, and our Team Development and Performance Management Program.

    What You Bring

    • An undergraduate degree (completed or in progress) that meets the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) prerequisites.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to ask questions when things aren’t clear.
    • Curiosity about how organizations operate, how financial information is produced, and why high-quality reporting matters.
    • A detail-oriented approach — you care about getting things right and are comfortable working carefully through complex tasks.
    • Critical thinking skills — you like analyzing information, spotting patterns, and thinking through issues logically.
    • A team-first, positive attitude and a “let me try, and then I’ll ask for help” mindset.

    Why You'll Love Working Here

    • CPA-Focused Support: From day one, you’ll have access to CPA and CFE mentorship, study support, and ongoing feedback to help you succeed in the program.
    • Real Relationships: Work closely with seniors, managers, and partners who know you by name and are invested in your growth.
    • Work-Life Balance That’s Real: We offer flexible scheduling within core hours and hybrid work options that respect both client needs and your life outside of work.
    • Growth & Learning: Take part in structured training, on-the-job coaching, and firm programs designed to help you build technical and professional skills.
    • Community & Connection: Join in on community initiatives, firm events, and team-building activities that make it easy to feel connected — even when things get busy.
