Medcor is looking to hire a Part-Time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our onsite occupational health clinic in Ottumwa, IA. This is a great opportunity for an LPN looking to step away from traditional bedside nursing and use their clinical skills in a workplace health, injury care, and employee wellness setting.

You’ll work onsite in a manufacturing environment, providing hands-on care to employees while partnering with Safety and Operations teams to help keep the workforce healthy, safe, and productive.

What You'll Do

As an Occupational Health LPN, you'll provide onsite healthcare services to employees within a manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include:

• Provide first aid, triage, assessment, and treatment for workplace injuries and illnesses

• Respond to workplace medical emergencies and coordinate emergency medical services when necessary

• Evaluate injured employees and guide care using established evidence-based treatment protocols

• Document patient encounters accurately within electronic medical records and company systems

• Assist with workers' compensation and injury case coordination

• Support OSHA-related injury and illness documentation and recordkeeping

• Perform reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing in accordance with established procedures

• Support occupational health programs, medical surveillance, and employee health screenings

• Provide employee health education, wellness coaching, and injury-prevention guidance

• Educate employees on treatment plans, self-care, and return-to-work expectations

• Communicate appropriately with supervisors, Safety teams, HR, and other stakeholders while maintaining patient privacy

• Partner with Medcor Operations Managers, Medical Directors, and clinical support teams

• Deliver compassionate, professional, and timely care while providing an excellent employee healthcare experience

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted LPN license in Iowa

• Current CPR/BLS certification through the American Heart Association

• Strong nursing assessment, triage, and clinical decision-making skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently with minimal onsite supervision

• Comfortable using electronic medical records and basic computer applications

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds

Preferred Experience:

Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful, but not required:

• Occupational Health

• Urgent Care

• Emergency Department

• Industrial or Manufacturing Health

• Workers' Compensation

• Case Management

• Employee Health

Additional occupational health certifications such as COHN, COHN-S, NIOSH Spirometry, CAOHC, Mental Health First Aid, or American Red Cross Instructor are also a plus.

Work Environment

This position is located in an onsite occupational health clinic within a large manufacturing facility in Ottumwa, Iowa. You'll work independently onsite while having access to Medcor's clinical leadership and support resources.

You'll regularly interact with employees, Safety professionals, Human Resources, management, and outside healthcare providers to support workplace health and safety.
