Shift: Day or Night shifts. Will vary to cover departmental vacancies

We currently have a Respiratory Therapist opportunity for an individual who is self-motivated with strong organizational skill and a positive attitude. This individual will be flexible to assist in prescheduled staffing gaps for all shifts, and functions well both independently and as a team player to assist the various needs of the department. This position reports to the Director of Cardiopulmonary Services.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and current Ohio RCP Licensure.
- CPR within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS, PALS, NRP, telemetry training and BAT certification, required within 6 months of hire.
- Proof of continuing professional development and continued maintenance of all required professional certifications.
- Two years acute/critical care experience required.
- Previous critical care/trauma/NICU experience highly preferred.
- Further certifications such as CPFT, RPFT, NPS, ACCS a plus.
- Electronic medical record experience, EPIC experience a plus.
Skill/Ability:
- Demonstrates effective communication skills in dealing with physicians, co-workers, patients and families.
- Demonstrates basic clinical skills in the assessment and delivery of care for patients of all ages.
- Demonstrates competency with applicable policies and procedures as outlined in the orientation packet.
- Demonstrates consistent utilization of techniques and practices that create a safe environment of care.
- Demonstrates the ability to work and prioritize appropriately in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to assist with the implementation of ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Rapid Response protocols.
- Demonstrates competence in a variety of work settings including: ICU, OB, ER, pediatrics and adult acute care therapy.
- Demonstrates knowledge of basic principles of mechanical ventilation including: initiation, monitoring, maintenance and discontinuation.
- Demonstrates proper technique when obtaining ABG’s and basic interpretation of results.
- Demonstrates ability to complete outpatient cardiopulmonary testing including: Pulmonary function testing, ECG, stress testing, Holter monitoring.
- Proficient at ECG rhythm recognition.
- Demonstrates competence with basic telemetry interpretation.
- Demonstrates knowledge of current medications utilized in the treatment of cardiac and pulmonary disease.
- Promotes cardiopulmonary disease prevention, education and wellness.
- Demonstrates strong customer service and leadership skills.
- Demonstrates the willingness to learn new skills.
- Assist with committees, special projects and monitors per direction of management.
- Additional training in outpatient testing may be required to fulfill department needs.
- Pay Scale is CPNA: Class B with $3.75 Float Differential
