Student - Instructional Design Intern

This position is responsible for editing course syllabi to ensure accessibility. This involves basic HTML editing as well as progress tracking.

$9.50/hour

Responsibilities

Primary Duties

1. Edit HTML source in Canvas and HelioCampus to ensure compatibility with screen readers

2. Communicate questions/changes when applicable

3. Track progress in shared spreadsheet

4. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance

Secondary Duties

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required

Education Preferred:

Experience Required

• Teamwork experience (e.g. from job, sports, student leadership, etc.)

Experience Preferred

• Customer Service Experience
• Experience using online applications including learning management systems (LMS, e.g. Canvas), Microsoft Office, and video conferencing tools (e.g. Zoom and Teams)

Skills, Characteristics Required

• Attention to detail
• Ability to learn basic HTML coding
• Ability to learn basic data entry/tracking in spreadsheets
• Reliability (able to work consistently and arrive on time) 

• Transparent (able to clearly communicate status and questions to instructional designers) 

• Ability to work independently (once training is complete) 

There may be specialty skills required that are dependent on the job. The expectations for those would be discussed and clarified on assignment.
