    Job description

    The Student Office Assistant provides support and assistance to the Graduate Program in Education faculty and Administrative Assistant through office duties including creating and editing documents, data management, internet research, social media maintenance, and additional duties as assigned. This is an academic year position, up to 10 hours per week.

    $8.00/hour

    Responsibilities

    Primary Duties: 

    1. Assist with general office duties such as opening and distributing mail, filing, proofreading, typing general correspondence.
    2. Assist with project organization and data maintenance.
    3. Use Microsoft Office in design and updating of spreadsheets, documents, tables, and presentations.
    4. Prepare and proofread resources for the Graduate Program in Education.
    5. Edit program documents, and orientation modules.
    6. Assist with event preparation.
    7. Represent the department professionally in communication with constituents.
    8. Maintain Graduate Program in Education Leadership social media profile(s).
    9. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

    Qualifications

    Education Required:

    Education Preferred: 

    Experience Required: Experience working with various computer systems and organizational skills needed.

    Experience Preferred: 

    Skills, Characteristics Required for Position: 

    1. Strong organizational skills.
    2. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Outlook.
    3. Willingness to learn new computer skills and programs.
    4. Strong editing and proofreading skills.
    5. Accurate data management and attention to detail.
    6. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
    7. Independent work ethic.
