Student - Worker, Sports Medicine

Description

This position is for students to help with various duties within the Athletic Training Room and for the Sports Medicine department, including setting up for practice and games, cleaning up from practices and games, restocking supplies in the athletic training room, preparing other tasks throughout the afternoon and/or evening.

$8.00/hour

Responsibilities

Primary Duties

1. Set-Up of pre-practice/game water, ice, and emergency equipment;
2. Tear-down of post-practice/game water, ice, and emergency equipment;
3. Cleaning of the athletic training room and athletic training equipment;
4. Preparing various treatments and other tasks around the athletic training room that aid in athlete care;
5. Stock and inventory commonly used athletic training supplies;
6. Abide by HIPAA, FERPA, and OSHA regulations;
7. Understand BBP and clean up soiled items appropriately;
8. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Secondary Duties

1. Other duties as assigned.

Skills, Characteristics Required

Teamwork oriented working with others. Ability to lift >40lbs (water cooler). Flexible to work evenings and weekends

Special Working Conditions

May need to work in inclement weather conditions (rain, snow, cold/hot weather).

Shift times are 2-3 pm and 6-7 pm, Monday through Friday, and 8 am on Saturday. Not necessary to be available for all of these times, but do prefer at least 3-4 shifts available for working. Other big events on Saturdays occur throughout the year where we need additional help throughout the entire day; those events will be announced a few weeks in advance with a signup sheet for shifts to work.

Dress Code Requirements

Comfortable, modest clothing that allows needed work to be done.

Driving Requirements

Must possess a valid driver's license. If you do not have a valid driver's license, we can work around this, but notify supervisor very quickly.
