Field Technician Helper

ROLE SUMMARY:

Michael Robert Specialty Contractors is seeking an entry level professional who can support our lead technicians on projects. Must possess a strong desire to learn construction trade skills and have an outstanding work ethic.

HOURS AND PAY PERIOD:

M-F 7am – 3:30pm or as needed to achieve company objectives and fulfill client needs.  There is some travel but rare overnight stays.

Qualified candidates meeting the criteria of employment will be offered a robust starting hourly rate, a company vehicle when deemed ready by the Project Manager as well as a monthly phone stipend for accessing all company data which is cloud-based.

Hourly / Non-Exempt position – pay period: Bi-Weekly

REPORTING STRUCTURE:

This position reports to: Project Manager

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

·         Serves existing accounts by completing work orders

·         Work closely with the Project Manager to complete the assigned job

·         Works safely and smartly by gathering needed tools and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests

·         Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications

TRAINING/ EDUCATION / PHYSICAL EXPECTATIONS:

·         Some experience in electrical/electronics, mechanical, carpentry, hydraulic and/or pneumatic fields and the ability to demonstrate proficiency in these areas

·         Must be able to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment

·         Ability to climb in overhead structures, in close quarters and on ladders in both occupied and unoccupied sites.

·         Attention to detail in all forms of communication

·         Must be able to stand for extended periods of time with little down time (8+ hours at a time)

·         Must be able to lift 80+ pounds safely

·         Will work with low voltage systems and standard voltage systems

·         Frequent use of ladders, scaffolding and lifts to work at heights of 8-60+ feet

·         Must be able to travel

·         keen interest in the following areas:  Electrical Construction and Maintenance / Carpentry / Plumbing / Masonry / Demolition / Commercial and Residential Construction/ Physical Security.

·         Possess fluent knowledge of office technology platforms

·         Strong verbal and written communications skills

·         Must be able to prioritize in a fast-paced working environment

·         Must be able to safely work at pace

·         Must be customer focused
