    Job description

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
    Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, the employee will perform a variety of clinical and clerical duties, including:

    • Greeting patients and families in a professional, welcoming manner.
    • Taking vital signs and preparing patients for examination.
    • Obtaining and reviewing medical, social, surgical, medication, and allergy histories.
    • Performing in-office procedures such as urinalysis, pregnancy testing, strep screens, EKGs, and TB testing, and reporting results to providers.
    • Communicating testing information, procedures, and follow-up instructions clearly and professionally.
    • Accurately documenting all patient information in the medical record according to current guidelines.
    • Administering medications as prescribed by the provider.
    • Preparing and cleaning patient areas, setting up equipment, and ensuring proper room turnover after procedures.
    • Disposing of contaminated supplies and sterilizing medical instruments.
    • Assisting with scheduling, clerical tasks, and patient flow as needed.
    • Participating in additional training for code management to ensure readiness for emergency response.
    • Traveling between health park locations to provide coverage based on staffing needs

      JOB REQUIREMENTS
      Candidates should possess the following skills, abilities, and knowledge:

    • Skill in using calculators, copy machines, and computers.
    • Ability to answer phone calls and communicate with patients pleasantly and courteously.
    • Ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and a positive attitude.
    • Willingness to accept and perform additional duties as needed.
    • Basic knowledge of correct English usage, spelling, and punctuation.
    • Basic understanding of modern office practices and procedures.
    • Basic knowledge of medical practice workflows, examination procedures, and treatment room protocols.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology.
    • Ability to accept guidance and supervision.
    • Ability to accurately compare names and numbers and perform basic arithmetic.
    • Ability to write neatly and legibly.
    • Ability to learn routines and procedures quickly.
    • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
    • Some knowledge of insurance requirements and procedures.
    • Flexibility to travel between health parks and participate in required code-management training.
      EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Possess Basic Life Support certification
    • Certified or registered Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

    • Works in an office in a clinical environment with minimal exposure to noise, temperature discomfort and lighting inadequacies.
    • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
