Mechanical Engineer II

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Independently develop structural designs of products using CAD/drafting software and engineering principles.

• Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet project requirements.

• Collaborate with the project team, peers, and management to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.

• Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating conditions, and potential applications.

• Coordinate and monitor aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and product design operation.

• Specify system components and direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

• Provide the Project Manager (PM) with timely status reports and produce meaningful project control documentation.

• Support the build team as required for timely and efficient system start-up.

• Serve as a technical resource and informal mentor to Mechanical Engineer I staff.

• Travel as required to complete project tasks.

• Maintain a strong company presence and positive working relationship with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and co-workers.

• Stay current on new developments in mechanical and automation engineering.

• Comply with all quality and safety regulations.

• Carry out other tasks and assignments as requested by the Mechanical Engineering Manager or Project Manager.

Education and/or Experience

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• Experience: 5–10 years of related mechanical design automation experience.

• Proficiency with CAD software required; SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred.
