    Job description

Misfits Market is a mission-driven, high-growth startup dedicated to reducing food waste and making shopping for sustainable, high-quality groceries easier and more affordable. We deliver organic produce, high-quality meats and seafood, plant-based proteins, dairy, bakery, wine, and other grocery items to nearly every zip code in 48 states at up to 30 percent off traditional grocery store prices. In 2022, Misfits Market acquired sustainable e-grocer Imperfect Foods and now leverages its in-house transportation network to deliver directly to consumers with one of the most carbon-efficient grocery delivery models on the market. By tackling inefficiencies in the food system, our passionate and motivated team of problem solvers helps save an average of 500,000 pounds of food per week from waste or lesser outcomes, with an all-time savings of 190+ million pounds of food.

As Misfits we support our customers and mission by embracing our core values of:

    Prioritizing our Customers

    Doing more with less

    Thinking Differently

    Respecting one another

    Moving deliberately and quickly

    Taking initiative and delivering

    What we do for you:

    • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
    • 401(k)
    • Annual Misfits grocery box credit of $1200 paid in weekly installments
    • Life insurance

At Misfits Market, our customers choose us for what we - quite literally - bring to the table. They expect their grocery order to arrive on time, fresh, and accurate and our Warehouse Leads play a critical role in ensuring that!  Your role involves providing front-line support for the production team, ensuring compliance with quality protocols and standard operating processes. With a focus on safety, accuracy, and quality control, you will play a crucial part in meeting production targets and delivering high-quality products to our customers.

    What you will do:

    • Collaborate with the production leaders to communicate daily goals, production targets, and safety briefings to the team. Delegate and distribute personnel to ensure the on-time completion of tasks and orders.
    • Strictly adheres to the SQF Food Safety Code while monitoring the warehouse floor to ensure all employees consistently follow Good Distribution Practices (GDP) rules.
    • Drives a proactive “see something, say something” culture, effectively escalating concerns and taking swift action appropriate to their level of responsibility.
    • Enforce and maintain quality control measures throughout the production process. Conduct regular inspections to ensure products meet specified quality standards, and address any deviations promptly.
    • Adhere to standard processes to support operational goals. Identify opportunities for improvement, implement best practices, and drive initiatives to streamline workflows.
    • Proactively communicate effectively with the inventory control team to ensure the timely replenishment of stock on the line, preventing out-of-stock items and shorts.
    • Foster effective communication across all warehouse teams to identify and effectively resolve issues that may impede the on-time and accurate delivery of customers orders.
    • Maintain all safety standards as provided by leadership

    What you have:

    • Authorized to work in the United States.
    • Experience or comfort with working in a refrigerated environment (36 degrees)
    • Strong verbal communications skills
    • Willingness to work overtime and/or possible weekends if the business needs you to
    • Ability to thrive in a repetitive and fast-paced environment
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation
    • Ability to stand, squat, kneel, and bend repetitively with or without reasonable accommodation

    Nice for you to have:

    • HS Diploma or equivalent
    • Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
    • Experience working in a food-based environment
