Resource Development Assistant

Full-Time, Contract (3 months contract)

Hourly Wage: $22.75

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Resource Development Assistant will assist with donor relations and administrative functions within the Community Relations and Resource Development Department during the holiday season, helping ensure a positive donor experience and the efficient operation of fundraising activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide professional and friendly support to donors and supporters of Mission Services of Hamilton.
Communicate with donors over the phone (accepting donations, making thank you calls and verifying information).
Greet and thank donors who are dropping off donations in person
Answer phone inquiries or redirect calls as needed
Open, sort and process incoming and outgoing mail
Process and Enter gifts into Raiser’s Edge/ RENXT
Create and mail donation receipts and thank you letters
Create and track Purchase Orders
Support the Resource Development with other tasks as assigned
Work safely, identify and report any health and safety concerns to management, and follow Mission Services’ workplace health and safety policies and procedures at all times

QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference for secondary school diploma in administration, Fundraising or related field

One to three (1-3) years of experience working in Raiser’s Edge/RENXT or similar database preferred
Preference for experience working with donors in a non-profit environment
Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
Raiser’s Edge/ RENXT

HOURS OF WORK:

37.5 Hours Per Week
Monday to Friday , with the ability to attend occasional Mission Services’ events and functions outside of regular working hours.

REQUIREMENTS:

Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
Proof of Negative Two-Step Tuberculosis Skin Test
