About the Role
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), you will provide skilled occupational therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities include:
License/Credentials
Current license or eligible for license under statutes in the state of Mississippi. Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer minimum of one (1) year rehabilitation experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility. Prefer active membership in the state and national American Occupational Therapy Association.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current license/certification in the state of Mississippi. Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Adequate computer skills in order to complete required job duties and computerized documentation. Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of Mississippi Methodist Senior Services.
Physical Requirements
Ability to walk, bend, drive, stand, sit and reach constantly during an eight (8) hour day/shift. Ability to speak and hear to understand and give directions. Visual and auditory acuity sufficient to assess and monitor patient/resident needs, maintain accurate records, understand directions and recognize people. Fine and gross motor skills. Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility and in the community. Work endurance ability to work eight (8) hour days/shifts. Ability to participate in sustained activity for up to three and one-half (3.5) hours at a time. Reading and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts and correspondence. Possesses highly developed communication and problem-solving skills.
Additional Information
Working conditions: Typical therapy clinic environment. Strong organizational skills in order to effectively maintain multiple projects simultaneously. Requires creativity as well as the ability to work independently. Ability to be discreet and maintain confidential information.
