About the Opportunity
As the Benefits Specialist, you will administer and support Monin’s employee benefits programs, ensuring employees receive accurate information and timely assistance with benefit-related questions and transactions. This position serves as a key point of contact for employees, insurance carriers, benefits vendors, and internal partners.
The Benefits Specialist supports the day-to-day administration of health and welfare, retirement, and voluntary benefit programs; maintains accurate benefits data; assists with regulatory compliance; and supports HR initiatives that reflect Monin’s mission and values.
What You’ll Do
· Administer day-to-day employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, FSA, HRA, and voluntary benefits.
· Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding benefits eligibility, enrollment, coverage, claims, and other benefit-related questions.
· Coordinate new-hire enrollment, qualifying life events, benefit changes, and terminations, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and timely.
· Educate new hires and employees on Monin’s benefit programs and available resources.
· Maintain accurate benefits information within the HRIS and benefits administration systems and coordinate with carriers and vendors to resolve eligibility and file-feed discrepancies.
· Reconcile carrier invoices, research and resolve discrepancies, and provide required supporting documentation for self-billed plans.
· Review benefits elections and payroll deductions to help ensure accuracy across HRIS, payroll, and carrier systems.
· Follow up on required FSA and HRA documentation and assist employees with outstanding documentation requests.
· Support annual Open Enrollment, including system setup and testing, employee communications, training, enrollment assistance, and post-enrollment audits.
· Assist with benefits compliance activities and required filings, including Form 5500, CMS/Medicare reporting, required employee notices, and other applicable federal and state requirements.
· Maintain and organize benefits documentation, including Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs), plan materials, notices, and resources available on the company intranet.
· Partner with benefits carriers, brokers, vendors, Payroll, Finance, and HR team members to research and resolve benefits-related issues.
· Assist with the planning and coordination of employee wellness initiatives and benefits education programs.
· Participate in benefits audits, HR projects, and process-improvement initiatives to improve accuracy, efficiency, and the employee experience.
· Occasional travel.

Other Qualifications & Considerations
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration.
· Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and benefits administration practices.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and reporting.
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
· Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
