The systems support specialist provide all aspects of information technology support to approximately 1000 clinical and non-clinical staff of a risk management company of distinct departments. The MIS department supports associates in all 27 of CMO's facilities in the Bronx and Westchester. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to providing first and second level technical support for applications and systems, deploying and documenting hardware, including desktop and laptop, computers, printers, mobile devices, and tablets working collaboratively with the larger medical center IT department to service CMO associates from handing off network account creations to working in IDF closets. The systems support specialist will also provide monthly reports requested by the senior director of MIS.

This position requires a thorough knowledge of supported systems, understanding, and navigation through the interactivity between the CMO MIS, other CMO departments, Montefiore IT, MHHA MIS department, outside vendors, outside consultants and voluntary offices. Certain job functions are wholly contained within CMO systems, like performing day-to-day claims and eligibility EDI production for CMO and UBA applications. CMO MIS also maintains a claims, eligibility, EFTs for Montefiore and voluntary clinicians and DMEs. Involvement in an understanding of all phases of the various technological projects, such as hardware deployment, and software upgrades will be expected. The specialist mentor and provide guidance to newer associates.

The responsibilities of this position are many and varied, but all focused on the goal of maintaining associate up-time and efficiency across all of our departments.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree required, in a technical field preferred, industry recognized technology certifications desired.

• 2 to 3 years of healthcare experience in a managed care or reimbursement setting required.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and access required.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, operating systems, desktop and server, including security and IT concepts and PC imaging a plus.

• Applicant must be able to use the Internet and other tools to research and troubleshoot problems to resolution.

• Applicant must be able to create technical documentation for Technical and non-technical audiences.

• Must be able to provide own transportation must be able to work in a high-pressure, service oriented, atmosphere.
