NURSE PRACTITIONER – CLINIC

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide primary and specialty healthcare services within our Physician Clinic. The Nurse Practitioner will provide direct patient care, perform assessments and diagnostic procedures, develop and initiate treatment plans, and support illness and injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.
The ideal candidate will be a licensed Registered Nurse who meets Louisiana requirements for Nurse Practitioner practice and is currently certified as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner by an accepted certifying body or has successfully completed an approved formal Nurse Practitioner program. Previous clinical experience is preferred.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
- Evaluate patients to determine their need for medical attention.
- Review and update patient medical histories and records.
- Perform comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations.
- Document pertinent patient information and clinical findings.
- Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate management and treatment.
- Initiate laboratory and diagnostic testing as appropriate.
- Identify normal and abnormal findings from patient histories, physical examinations, and laboratory studies.
- Develop and initiate appropriate patient care plans.
- Perform clinical procedures in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Refer patients to appropriate services when needs cannot be met within the clinic.
- Coordinate the transfer of health records when necessary.
- Oversee sample medication dispensing and disposal procedures.
- Delegate appropriate duties in accordance with Louisiana State Board of Nursing requirements.
- Promote continuity of care by communicating effectively with providers involved in each patient's care.
- Complete medical record documentation accurately and timely.
- Work collaboratively with Administration and other healthcare team members.
- Support cost-effective delivery of patient care and appropriate utilization of resources.
- Exercise independent judgment and adapt to changing assignments and environments.
- Maintain appropriate records related to professional services provided.
- Provide professional, compassionate, and respectful care to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Current Registered Nurse license and eligibility to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in Louisiana.
- Current certification as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner through an accepted certifying body OR successful completion of an approved formal Nurse Practitioner program.
- Previous clinical experience preferred.
- Ability to make independent clinical decisions when appropriate.
