    Position Summary

    The Palace Cook assists in coordinating and participating in daily food production and service by preparing high-quality meals in accordance with established menus, standardized recipes, and dietary requirements. This role ensures that all food is prepared safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and facility standards.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Maintains a safe and sanitary department according to established rules and regulations, ensuring the department is always survey-ready.
    • Assists in receiving incoming supplies; inspects items to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specifications, and aids in proper storage.
    • Reviews upcoming menus to ensure all necessary ingredients are available; removes frozen meat and poultry from the freezer on time to allow for safe thawing.
    • Maintains proper food temperatures during storage to ensure food safety and compliance with health regulations.
    • Reviews and develops recipes based on the type of food to be prepared according to therapeutic diets; follows standardized menus and recipes to maintain consistency and nutritional standards.
    • Prepare food according to recipes, adhering to dietary laws and cooking practices.
    • Reports equipment malfunctions and supply needs promptly to the Director of Culinary to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    What You’ll Bring

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • ServSafe Certificate.
