    Position Summary

    The Tradition Cook participates in food production and service by assisting in the preparation of high-quality kosher meals in accordance with established menus, standardized recipes, and therapeutic dietary guidelines to support the residents’ dining experience.

    How You’ll Make an Impact

    • Prepares food items according to production guides and as directed by lead cooks and the chef, following standardized recipes and menus and adhering to kosher dietary laws.
    • Responsible for completing assigned daily food production tasks in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and dietary standards.
    •  Reports food, equipment, and supply needs promptly to the cook to support smooth kitchen operations.
    • Maintains a safe and sanitary department in compliance with established rules, regulations, and health standards.
    • Cleans and organizes dry storage areas and walk-in coolers to maintain cleanliness, order, and compliance with food safety standards.
    • Practices proper food handling, storage, and cooling procedures to ensure food safety and prevent contamination.
    • Ensures proper rotation and storage of food items to maintain freshness, prevent waste, and comply with food safety standards (FIFO – First In, First Out).
    • Assists with receiving supplies as assigned, ensuring accuracy and proper handling during delivery.
    • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    What You’ll Bring

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    • ServSafe Certificate.
