Position Summary

Maintain kitchen work area, equipment, and utensils in a clean, sanitary, safe and orderly condition. Provides support to Food Service Manager in the preparation of meals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Maintain kitchen Kashrut standards when washing, cleaning, and storing of Culinary Equipment and Supplies.
• Washes and sanitizes dishes, glassware, plastic ware, and cutlery in the prescribed manner, either manually, via the three compartment sink method, or mechanically, via the dish machine.
• Washes and sanitizes pots, pans, and utensils using the three-compartment sink method. Washes and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, sinks, and kitchen equipment.
• Maintain food and supply storage areas in a safe and sanitary manner. Transports trash from dining rooms and deposits in dumpster.
• Segregates and removes trash; places in designated containers. Cleans and sanitizes trash cans. Assist in storing food and supply deliveries.
• Set up banquet tables for special events. Sweeps, mops, and sanitizes kitchen floors.
• Deliver food carts to and from dining room pantries.
• Reports equipment and supply needs to the Assistant Director. Attend in-service training classes.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize assigned tasks as needed.

What You’ll Bring

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
