Job Summary
The Solution Consultant is responsible for supporting, maintaining, and improving critical systems that enable production, quality, maintenance, scale automation/weighing processes, systems integration, licensing administration, vendor-supported applications, and cloud-based operational platforms. This role provides hands-on technical and functional support across plants, stockpiles, co-packers, third-party logistics warehouses, and integrated business processes.
The position requires strong experience with scale automation technologies, Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, integrated plant applications, software deployment, vendor coordination, contract renewals, and cross-functional support with Business, Infrastructure, Cloud, Enterprise Solutions, Help Desk, and Plant Operations teams.
Duties and Responsibilities
Scale Automation and Weighing Systems Support
- Support scale automation and weighing systems, including RFID technology and related plant-floor hardware.
- Work with Help Desk and infrastructure teams to resolve site stockpile outages and operational issues.
- Provide support for Windows systems, networking, scale indicators, serial converters, printers, RFID readers, driver’s license readers, and signature capture devices.
- Monitor and manage integration between scale systems and ERP systems to support reliable operational and business transaction processing.
- Run SQL scripts to audit tables, investigate issues, and correct data where appropriate.
- Create ad hoc SQL scripts to support operational, troubleshooting, audit, and integration requirements.
- Monitor and manage replication between remote systems and the central server.
Application Upgrades, Testing, and Deployment
- Oversee upgrades to weighing and related applications.
- Work with vendors to ensure updates are delivered in alignment with business needs.
- Test upgrades to confirm defects are not introduced and business processes remain stable.
- Coordinate deployment activities with infrastructure teams, cloud teams, and vendors.
New Site and Location Enablement
- Initiate startup activities for new stockpiles, co-packers, and third-party logistics warehouses.
- Work with business stakeholders to define operational and technical setup requirements for new locations.
- Coordinate ERP setup activities with the Enterprise Solutions team.
- Coordinate hardware setup, deployment, and installation activities with infrastructure teams.
Vendor, Contract, and Licensing Management
- Oversee contract renewals for vendors and platforms of various systems.
- Work with vendors to ensure licensing is appropriately sized for current and future business demand.
- Generate purchase requisitions and purchase orders to support vendor payments, renewals, and licensing needs.
Functional and Technical
- Provide consultation on historical and current concepts, including security roles, configuration, batch processing, system integration, business processes, master data, and change management.
- Support functions across production planning, materials management, quality management, plant maintenance, printing, bar coding, mobile applications, and global available-to-promise.
- Respond to demands to support and implement/expand mobile maintenance at plants as needed.
- Assist with device management, user setup, training needs, and single sign-on integration.
- Administer Autodesk licensing, including license approval, license assignment, flex token usage monitoring, and offboarding.
- Support plant users working with Autodesk Vault.
- Coordinate Autodesk support requests from plants.
- Provide general support for cloud-based operational systems
- Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to resolve access, configuration, licensing, and support issues.
Working Relationships
- This role works closely with Plant Personnel, Help Desk, Infrastructure, Cloud Services, Enterprise Solutions, Procurement, external vendors, and an array of business stakeholders to maintain reliable plant systems, support integrated processes, and enable operational continuity across multiple locations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least three years of experience supporting and optimizing scale automation, weighing systems, RFID technology, and related plant-floor applications such as production, quality, plant maintenance, environmental health and safety, print, bar coding, mobile applications, and global available-to-promise
- At least three years of hands-on experience with Windows Server 2019 and Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or later
- At least three years of experience supporting software deployments in a Windows environment.
- Experience running and creating SQL scripts for auditing, troubleshooting, data correction, and operational support
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across applications, databases, integrations, infrastructure dependencies, and plant-floor devices
- Experience with integrating systems
- Functional knowledge of business processes
- Experience with software testing, deployment planning, and upgrade oversight
- Experience with vendor coordination, licensing, renewals, and procurement support
- Strong collaboration skills with business users, plant personnel, Help Desk, infrastructure, cloud, Enterprise Solutions, vendors, procurement, and finance teams
- Operational continuity, risk awareness, and attention to detail
Preferred
- Functional knowledge of materials management, procurement, sales and distribution, logistics, and application security
- Experience using and supporting SAP modules such as PP, QM, PM
The base salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 is just one component of this position’s compensation package. Actual compensation varies depending on factors including knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to the base salary, this position is also eligible for an annual bonus.
