The role:

We are adding a compassionate and knowledgeable Mobility and Accessibility Consultant – MEPP to our team in Courtenay, BC. This posting is for an existing vacancy as a result of an internal transfer. As a Consultant, you will support Motion's delivery of the Medical Equipment Provision Program (MEPP), working closely with healthcare professionals and clients to coordinate the timely provision of medical equipment that helps people remain safe at home or transition home from hospital.

You will manage the full cycle of MEPP equipment orders, from receiving and reviewing referrals through coordinating equipment availability, delivery, setup and follow-up. Equipment may include hospital beds and mattresses, patient lifts, wheelchairs, walkers, bathroom safety equipment and other mobility and home safety products.

We need a relationship-builder and solutions-oriented consultant who wants to spend their days working closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure clients receive the right equipment safely, efficiently and with an exceptional level of service.

How you will spend your days:

• Provide solutions. You will work directly with healthcare professionals to fulfill MEPP equipment orders and ensure clients receive the prescribed mobility, medical and home safety equipment they need. You will develop a strong understanding of MEPP requirements, Motion's available equipment and the processes required to provide timely and reliable service.
• Coordinate MEPP orders. You will manage MEPP referrals and equipment orders from receipt through fulfillment, working closely with our internal teams to coordinate inventory, delivery, installation, documentation and follow-up. You will help identify and resolve issues that could delay a client's safe transition home or access to necessary equipment.
• Build and maintain relationships. You will develop and maintain strong relationships with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses and other healthcare professionals throughout Kamloops and the surrounding area. You will become a trusted point of contact for MEPP services by being responsive, knowledgeable and solutions focused.
• Be flexible and mobile. You will spend your days working with healthcare facilities and clients in the communities we serve, including hospitals, rehabilitation settings and private residences. You will pull from our inventory of medical, mobility and home safety equipment to support client needs and may assist with equipment demonstrations, adjustments and setup. Some out of town travel will be required.

• Experience. You have exposure to selling, coordinating, maintaining or fitting mobility, accessibility or home medical equipment. Or, you have worked in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Home and Community Care, Long Term Care, hospital discharge planning, or another healthcare area and are looking to pivot into a client-facing role. You might even be a recent graduate from a healthcare program and are looking for a great place to start your career. • Service and relationship focus. You are a problem solver by nature, with the ability to ask thoughtful questions, troubleshoot concerns and respond quickly to the needs of healthcare professionals and clients. You understand the importance of timely follow-up, accurate order management and building trusted relationships with referral partners.
• Organization and coordination. You are highly organized and comfortable managing multiple referrals, orders and client needs at the same time. You can coordinate across healthcare professionals, clients and internal teams while ensuring details and documentation are accurate and timelines are met.
• Innovation. You have expertise in finding new ways to ensure client needs are met. You are resourceful and can identify solutions when equipment availability, timing or other challenges arise.
• Technical Skills. You have experience with a Customer Relationship database (CRM). You are proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Communication and Collaboration. You have outstanding oral and written communication skills. You can relate to people and build trust easily. You thrive in a team environment, working with internal and external teams to support our healthcare partners and satisfy our clients.
• Additional must have requirements. You have a valid G-class driver's license and a clean driving record. You have a clean criminal background check and are bondable. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
