    Overview

    The Cost Accountant position will manage the accounting and prepare reconciliations for toll vendor inventory, prepare multiple journal entries during the month-end close process, and perform or assist with other critical functions and analyses involving inventory accounting.

    This position is located in Alpharetta, GA, and requires on-site daily attendance.

    Responsibilities

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Reconcile and manage accounting for Stryten inventory at select toll vendors and other third-party locations.
    • Reconcile GL balances and activity to toll vendor statements monthly.
    • Reconcile transactions between Element Resources and Stryten Energy monthly.
    • Monitor key General Ledger accounts daily for problems with shipping and receiving.
    • Prepare journal entries timely and accurately during the month-end close process.
    • Assist with clearing toll vendor in-transit accounts monthly as needed.
    • Assist with the annual Physical Inventory as needed.
    • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the team and company goals.

    Qualifications

    Education, Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
    • 3+ years of Cost Accounting experience
    • JDE experience is a plus.

    Skills, Abilities, Knowledge

    • Strong organizational, time-management, and communication skills.
    • Strong PC and analytical skills. (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP in Excel.)
    • Detail-oriented.
    • Ability to work independently.

    Environment

    • This position is performed in a professional office environment and requires regular onsite attendance. Employees primarily work at a desk using a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

    Physical Demands

    • While performing the duties of this position, employees are regularly required to communicate, remain in a stationary position for extended periods, and operate standard office equipment. Occasional movement throughout the office may be required. The position may occasionally require lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds.

    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
