CLINICAL NURSE I TRANSPORT
JOB SUMMARY
The Registered Nurse – Transport/Float Pool is responsible for escorting and providing care and surveillance to inpatients during same day local transport, for the purpose of external scheduled clinic appointments and pre-scheduled admissions.

Educational Requirements
Graduate of a National League for Nursing (NLN) accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Licensure, Certification and Registration
Work Orientation and Experience
Minimum three years of recent pediatric nursing experience required.
External transport experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Director of Clinical Support Services.
No direct supervision. May provide clinical direction and guidance to LPN's and PCA's.
INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Daily collaboration with physicians, patients, visitors, other members of the healthcare team, and external agencies.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED
Operates patient care equipment and computers.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
Regular or continuous risk of exposure to body fluids, infectious waste or blood borne diseases requiring the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to established protocol. Occasionally subjected to irregular hours. Occasional stress due to emergency situations or multiple demands.
