MUFG is seeking a KYC Analyst with Japanese language proficiency to join their Client Management Services team in London. This role offers you the opportunity to be part of a highly respected organisation renowned for its commitment to integrity, transparency, and shared growth. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the onboarding of new client relationships across both banking and securities divisions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and maintaining the highest standards of due diligence. The organisation values nurturing talent, providing flexible working opportunities, and fostering an inclusive environment where your interpersonal skills and attention to detail will be celebrated. If you are looking for a position that combines meaningful responsibility with supportive leadership and ongoing training opportunities, this is your chance to make a real impact.
What you'll do:
As a KYC Analyst Japanese Speaker based in London, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that span both banking and securities divisions under a dual-hat arrangement. Your day-to-day activities will involve conducting comprehensive due diligence reviews for new client relationships as well as existing business partners. You will meticulously perform bribery and corruption checks, maintain precise records of customer categorisation, and ensure suitability assessments align with regulatory frameworks such as MiFiD, EMIR, and Dodd Frank Act. By actively participating in Lean-On-Boarding initiatives, you will contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency while upholding rigorous compliance standards. Your vigilance in identifying risks during periodic reviews will be crucial in safeguarding the organisation’s reputation. Additionally, you will facilitate system updates for non-KYC entries and provide valuable support on ad hoc projects within the Client Management Services team. Success in this role requires a collaborative mindset, exceptional attention to detail, strong communication abilities in both English and Japanese, and a genuine commitment to supporting colleagues across departments.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the KYC Analyst Japanese Speaker position brings proven experience from roles focused on Anti Money Laundering or financial crime prevention. Your deep understanding of UK & European AML regulations equips you to navigate complex compliance requirements confidently. You possess technical expertise regarding Financial Institutions that allows you to assess risk accurately across various jurisdictions. Your fluency in Japanese enhances your ability to communicate effectively with clients from Asia as well as internal stakeholders. Attention to detail is second nature; you consistently deliver precise documentation even when handling high volumes of work under pressure. Your structured approach helps you manage competing priorities calmly while maintaining accuracy at every stage. You thrive in collaborative environments where sharing knowledge is encouraged—your interpersonal skills enable you to build trust among colleagues and contribute positively to team dynamics. Whether supporting ad hoc projects or facilitating system updates, your commitment ensures that every task aligns with organisational values of integrity and responsibility.

Employees benefit from flexible working arrangements that accommodate personal commitments while promoting work-life balance. With supportive leadership guiding your development journey, you’ll find ample room for growth within an environment that prioritises nurturing talent rather than simply recruiting it. The size and scope of its global operations mean there are always new challenges waiting; however, these are met together as a team committed to shared success rather than individual achievement.
