Junior Market Developer (Wallet)

At Mukuru, we're building financial solutions that connect millions of people to opportunities across Africa. We're looking for a commercially minded Junior Market Developer to help grow our Wallet & VAS business, unlock new opportunities, and drive customer adoption in key markets.

This is more than a business development role. It's an opportunity to shape market growth, build strategic partnerships, and bring innovative financial products to life.

What You'll Do

Drive Market Growth

• Champion the Wallet & VAS strategy within your assigned markets.
• Identify opportunities to acquire new customers and increase product adoption.
• Partner with sales and marketing teams to improve market penetration and customer engagement.
• Enhance distribution channels to maximize accessibility and customer reach.

Build Strong Partnerships

• Develop and maintain relationships with business partners, regulators, service providers, and key stakeholders.
• Support commercial negotiations and partnership discussions.
• Contribute to pricing reviews and market performance initiatives.

Spot New Opportunities

• Research market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
• Identify commercially viable opportunities that support Mukuru's growth strategy.
• Develop business cases and support the implementation of approved opportunities.
• Lead discussions with potential partners and build mutually beneficial relationships.

Deliver Successful Projects

• Coordinate cross-functional projects from planning through execution.
• Monitor timelines, identify risks, and drive solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth implementation and delivery.

Stay Ahead of the Market

• Keep abreast of developments in payments, fintech, digital wallets, and VAS offerings.
• Monitor competitor activity and emerging market trends.
• Use insights to support data-driven business decisions.

What You'll Bring

Essential

• Relevant tertiary qualification.
• Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Advantageous

• Experience in business development, sales, partnerships, or market development.
• Exposure to financial services, fintech, payments, or remittances.
• Experience managing projects and stakeholder relationships.
