    Medical Physicist - Radiation Oncology

    Job description

    What You’ll Do

    • Competent to independently provide clinical and professional services in therapeutic medical physics.
    • Consults and collaborates with Radiation Oncologists and allied health personnel.
    • Supports treatment planning and patient-specific radiation dosing.
    • Ensures radiation safety for patients, staff, and the general public.

    Key Duties

    • Develop, test, and commission radiation therapy, brachytherapy, simulation, and treatment-planning equipment; ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance.
    • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for clinical use of radiation and technical operations.
    • Perform radiation measurements, acceptance testing, and equipment evaluations prior to clinical implementation.
    • Review and evaluate patient dosimetry and collaborate with physicians and dosimetrist on treatment planning.
    • Lead quality management and radiation safety programs, including shielding design and evaluation.
    • Provide technical leadership for radiation oncology staff and support program development.
    • Deliver consultation, training, and expertise in radiation dose, imaging applications, and informatics.
    • Execute brachytherapy quality assurance procedures, oversee all radioactive source exchange activities, and participate in treatment planning and delivery for the brachytherapy program.
    • Masters or Ph.D. from a CAMPEP accredited medical physics program OR a Ph.D. or equivalent in Physics, Medical Physics, or related field with completion of a CAMPEP approved residency training program in Radiation Oncology Physics.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology.
    • Listed as authorized medical physicists on radioactive materials license or eligible.
