At Virginia Veterinary Centers – Short Pump, you’ll work alongside experienced specialists and emergency clinicians in a brand-new, 30,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility designed to support advanced medicine, collaboration, and growth.
Our specialty team includes Surgery, Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Critical Care, and Emergency Medicine, providing a highly collaborative environment for managing complex cases. The hospital offers advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities, including 1.5T MRI, CT, C-arm, CT cone-beam, LINAC, digital radiography, ultrasonography, high-flow oxygen, ventilators, minimally invasive surgical capabilities, and raioactive iodine therapy.

In your day-to-day, you will:
· Provide advanced surgical care for a diverse caseload, with opportunities to pursue clinical interests across soft tissue, orthopedic, and minimally invasive surgery.
· Collaborate closely with Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, and other specialty services.
· Utilize advanced diagnostic imaging and surgical technology to support comprehensive patient care.
· Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with referring veterinarians through clear communication and continuity of care.
· Mentor and collaborate with surgical technicians, interns, residents, and other members of the clinical team.
· Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners throughout the surgical process.
· Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
· DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for state veterinary licensure.
· Board Certification in Surgery or Residency Trained in Surgery.
· Strong communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
· A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
· A passion for continuous learning, teamwork, and advancing specialty medicine.
