Description of Work
The primary purpose of the Interpretation & Education (I&E) Specialist is to enhance the ability of DPR sites to provide meaningful public programs. To achieve this, the I&E Specialist will cultivate relationships with DPR sites by hosting biannual meetings.This information is reported to the I&E Program Manager and delegated back to members of the I&E program team. I&E program Specialists will assist DPR sites in hosting special events, participate in outreaches, co-facilitate or assist in field trips, and assist in public programs as needed or requested.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Recruitment Range: $50,088.00 - $54,681.00

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree with a major in a natural science field from an appropriately accredited institution AND two years of experience in the development and presentation of natural science interpretive and educational programs.

An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Veteran’s and National Guard Preference
Applicants seeking Veteran’s Preference must attach a DD Form 214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty, along with the state application.
Applicants seeking National Guard Preference must attach an NGB 23A (RPAS), along with the state application if they are a current member of the NC National Guard in good standing.
Applicants who are former member of either the NC Army National Guard or the NC Air National Guard, with honorable discharge and six years of creditable service must attach a copy of the DD 256 or NGB 22, along with the state application.
