Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
- Greets guests in a prompt, professional and courteous manner offering assistance with merchandise as requested.
- Displays merchandise in a tasteful manner, suggests selections to meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article; demonstrates use of merchandise, if applicable.
- Prepares sales slip and receives payment for merchandise purchased.
- Reconciles and balances cash drawer at end of shift.
- Helps remove tags or labels from purchased merchandise if requested by customer.
- Places new merchandise on display; ensures all displays are well stocked and prices are marked as required.
- Requisitions merchandise from stockroom.
- Prepares forms for employee consignments. Sells and records any consignment sale.
- Maintains cleanliness and order in gift shop by cleaning shelves, counters, and tables.
- Exchanges merchandise for customers and accept returns according to established policies and procedures.
- Keeps track of merchandise issued to authorized personnel or promotional activities.
- Observes behavior of customers entering gift shop; reports suspicious behavior to supervisor or security.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
- Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
- Assists in researching new items to compliment the gift shop and guests.
- Assist in working with artists for setting up consignment agreements.

Minimum
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED plus six (6) months retail experience. Must meet all knowledge, skills and abilities. Must be eighteen (18) years of age for Arizona properties and twenty-one (21) years of age for New Mexico properties. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain gaming license. Navajo preference.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of retail operations.
- Knowledge of basic math and arithmetic.
- Knowledge of cash handling.
- Knowledge of casino operations.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict time lines.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods, walk and sit; use hands for dexterity of motion; stoop, bend, kneel or crouch, and have normal auditory, visual acuity, and verbal communications skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a Casino retail setting with a moderate noise level.
Extended hours and irregular shifts are required. Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
