The Cost Accounting Analyst supports the financial performance of the plant by ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and cost analysis.
This position works closely with Finance, Controlling, Production, Purchasing, and other functions to analyze manufacturing costs, identify variances, support month-end closing activities, and provide reliable financial information for business decisions.
The role also supports budgeting, forecasting, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Analyze product and manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Monitor and analyze production and cost variances.
- Support standard cost calculations and updates.
- Perform inventory valuation and reconciliation activities.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to cost accounting.
- Prepare cost reports, financial analyses, and management information.
- Analyze actual costs versus budget, forecast, and standard costs.
- Identify cost deviations and work with relevant departments to determine root causes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Finance, and Controlling teams.
- Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate financial data and compliance with internal accounting policies and procedures.
- Support internal and external audit requirements related to cost accounting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in cost accounting, controlling, finance, or a similar position, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems; SAP or similar systems is preferred.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- English proficiency preferred.
