    Job description

    Title:                    Conference & Banqueting Supervisor

    Department:   Conference & Banqueting

    Reports To:     Conference & Banqueting Manager/ Conference & Banqueting Assistant Manager

The Conference & Banqueting Supervisor is responsible for leading the Conference & Banqueting team to deliver exceptional guest experiences across conferences, meetings, weddings, banquets, private dining and special events. Through strong leadership, attention to detail and a passion for hospitality, this role ensures every event is delivered to the highest standards while embodying our values of Care, Energy & Drive, Always Getting Better and Doing the Right Thing.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead by example to deliver exceptional guest service throughout all conferences, meetings, weddings and banqueting events.
    • Ensure all guests receive a warm, professional and personalised experience.
    • Anticipate guest needs and proactively resolve issues before they impact the guest experience.
    • Handle guest complaints and feedback promptly, professionally and effectively.
    • Build positive relationships with repeat corporate clients, wedding couples and event organisers.
    • Ensure service standards consistently reflect the Midlands Park Hotel brand and mission.
    • Review function sheets, event orders and schedules to ensure all event requirements are understood and executed correctly.
    • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event reviews.
    • Ensure rooms are set up accurately and efficiently according to client requirements.
    • Monitor event timelines and coordinate service delivery to ensure seamless execution.
    • Liaise with Sales, Kitchen, Front Office, Accommodation and Maintenance departments to deliver successful events.
    • Ensure all conference rooms, banqueting suites and event spaces are maintained to the highest presentation standards.
    • Supervise, motivate and support the Conference & Banqueting team during all service periods.
    • Allocate duties and manage staffing levels according to business demands.
    • Train, coach and mentor new and existing team members.
    • Support onboarding and induction of new employees.
    • Encourage a positive, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
    • Conduct regular performance conversations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork and accountability.

    • Conduct routine checks to maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies including Dignity & Respect, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion and Responsible Service of Alcohol.

    Key Skills & Experience

    • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience within hospitality, food & beverage, events or banqueting.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
    • Strong customer service focus.
    • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
