SUMMARY
The Facilities Maintenance Technician I is responsible for constructing, repairing, painting, and maintaining structures, furniture, and finishes across all KPC Health hospital campuses. This position supports a wide range of carpentry and general maintenance activities, ensuring high standards of safety and functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Construct and repair furniture, cabinetry, doors, walls, and hospital room finishes using hand and power tools.
- Maintain and repair wooden structures, including counters, partitions, stairs, and window/door frames.
- Perform general painting, surface preparation, and finish work as needed.
- Operate woodworking and finishing equipment including saws, joiners, and lathes.
- Follow safety protocols and building codes while completing assignments.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory, and material requisitions.
- Work collaboratively with facilities teams at all hospital locations.
- Travel to KPC hospitals as required.
- Others duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years general maintenance experience; healthcare experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Valid CA Driver’s License; reliable transportation.
