    Job description

    The Eating Disorder Therapist will be focused on the healing and recovery of our clients through individual, family and group therapy. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Therapist will also be part of the treatment team to verify that the client is addressing the underlying issues and actively progressing in his or her recovery, with an overall goal of abstinence.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Individual, family, and group therapy
    • Clinical documentation
    • Collaboration with treatment team
    • On-call responsibilities
    • Maintaining the structure and consistency of the program
    • Ability to take initiative
    • Participation in trainings, education, and staff activities

    Work Schedule: Hours Flexible, Days Preferred, Sunday - Thursday

    • Licensed Professional Counselor, Marriage & Family Therapist or Clinical Social Worker in the State of CT
    • Experience in working with clients with eating disorders
    • Experience in working with adolescents
    • Individual and/or family counseling experience

    Experience or Knowledge of:

    • Intuitive Eating
    • Co-occurring Disorders
    • Residential treatment environment

    A DEFINITE PLUS:

    Additional training or experience in Holistic treatment and/or lifestyle approach

The program combines the key elements essential in effectively treating adolescent girls and boys with substance abuse and other mental health disorders. As compared with adults, adolescents have higher rates of dual diagnosis and developmental differences. Adolescent treatment needs can be challenging and often involves more comprehensive and multi-disciplinary approaches.
