NMH extends its trauma informed evidence-based services to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Our services vary from outreach, specialized programs, mental health, school-based therapy, substance use therapy, community-based therapy, and outpatient.

The Community-Based Work Experience (CBWE) role provides individuals receiving services through Newport Mental Health (NMH) and authorized by the Rhode Island Office of Rehabilitation Services (ORS) with a structured, temporary, and paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a community employment setting.
The CBWE is intended to help participants explore career interests, build workplace confidence, develop job readiness skills, and prepare for competitive community employment.
