Purchase Engineer

Who we are:

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru & Delhi NCR. We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defence forces. It is undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Researching potential vendors

Work with suppliers, manufacturers, and internal departments to place orders on a timely basis.

Negotiate the best payment terms and contract conditions, maintaining a high level of integrity.

Tracking and reporting key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.

Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs.

Parts acceptance/rejection, warranties, and other related follow up matters with the supplier till completion of Project.

Arrange and participate in meetings between suppliers and Company engineers and other personnel to facilitate standardization and economical procurement.

Assess, manage, and mitigate risks

Ensuring that all procured items meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Liaise with inventory / Quality staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition.

Monitor Shipments movement, Delays and report the delays to the Reporting manager and requesting department

Basic Requirement:

B.E (Mechanical/Electrical Engineering) with 1-2 years of experience in sourcing and vendor management.

Outstanding negotiation skills.

Working experience of vendor management software.

Problem solver with a strong analytical mindset.
