We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deal Desk Analyst to join our team. This position plays a critical role in reviewing underwriting guidelines across multiple mortgage product types including Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM loans. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the Sales, Underwriting, and Investor teams, ensuring that mortgage deals are in compliance with guidelines and are structured effectively for approval
- Review and ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines across all mortgage types (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Jumbo, and Non-QM).
- Serve as a key liaison between the Sales, Underwriting, and Investor teams to facilitate smooth communication and timely deal flow.
- Analyze and evaluate loan scenarios to ensure proper structuring and guideline adherence.
- Provide feedback and support to Sales teams on loan products, guidelines, and best practices.
- Assist in the resolution of complex underwriting and loan structuring issues.
- Collaborate with underwriting teams to ensure efficient loan approvals and identify potential areas for process improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in underwriting guidelines, loan programs, and investor requirements.
- Work with investors to ensure accurate and timely submission of loans.
- Track deal performance and ensure all necessary documentation is provided and accurate.
- Address and resolve any post-closing issues that may arise.
- Preferred: Previous experience working at an independent mortgage bank.
- Desired: Experience in mortgage underwriting, with strong knowledge of the different loan types and their respective guidelines.
- Proficiency in mortgage loan guidelines and documentation.
- Ability to analyze complex loan structures and identify potential issues.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external investors.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in the mortgage industry, preferably in underwriting or deal desk functions.
