Encompass experience preferred.
- Pre-underwrite loan files by reviewing borrower documentation such as credit reports, income documents, and assets to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with income calculations and verify supporting documents.
- Support senior underwriters in identifying potential risks and issues in loan applications.
- Ensure all loan applications comply with company policies, investor requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and lenders to resolve issues and ensure timely processing of loan applications.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mortgage products and underwriting guidelines for Conventional, FHA, VA, and other loan types.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in finance, business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience using Encompass loan origination software is a huge benefit.
- Prior experience with mortgage processing or underwriting is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Some experience in underwriting, loan processing, or similar roles is an advantage.
- Familiarity with various mortgage types (Conventional, FHA, VA) is a plus.
