Job Designation: Lab Attendant

Job Summary:

The Lab Attendant is responsible for assisting in the smooth functioning of laboratory operations by maintaining cleanliness, arranging laboratory materials and equipment, supporting faculty and laboratory staff during practical sessions, and ensuring that the laboratory environment is safe and organized. The incumbent will be trained by the Faculty In-charge and Lab Technicians on laboratory procedures and requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory and associated storage areas. 

• Assist in the setup and arrangement of laboratory equipment, instruments, chemicals, specimens, and materials for practical sessions. 

• Support faculty members and laboratory technicians during laboratory classes and activities. 

• Transport laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies as required. 

• Ensure proper storage of laboratory items as instructed by the Faculty In-charge and Lab Technicians. 

• Assist in inventory checking and stock maintenance of laboratory consumables and supplies. 

• Follow laboratory safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment. 

• Report any damage, shortages, or maintenance requirements to the concerned authority. 

• Perform other laboratory-related duties assigned by the Faculty In-charge from time to time. 

Educational Qualifications

• Minimum 10th Pass (SSC) from a recognized Board. 

Professional Experience

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience Experience

• Prior experience in a laboratory, educational institution, hospital, or similar environment will be preferred. 

Skills and Competencies

• Willingness to learn and undergo on-the-job training. 

• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. 

• Basic understanding of cleanliness and safety practices. 

• Good physical fitness to handle routine laboratory support activities. 

• Punctuality, discipline, and reliability. 

• Ability to work effectively with faculty members, laboratory technicians, and students. 

• Basic communication and interpersonal skills.
