Risk Model Expert

Broaden your horizon as a Risk Model Development Expert at the Head Office of the Netherlands’ largest insurance company. In this role you will strengthen NN Group’s internal model by developing and improving risk models using advanced modelling techniques. Your contribution will directly support the capital needs of NN to remain financially robust and future-proof.

What you are going to do

You will use your vast experience to strengthen our financial models. This role has as primary focus on the development of our internal risk model. This internal model calculates different risks, from credit and equity risk to longevity and persistency risk. Although, this role has a special focus on the in the internal model, you can also engage your expertise on other uses of the internal model uses or on our standard formula.

You will be part of the PIM Coordination team and operate like an internal risk consultant, ensuring our models fits best our risk profile and business needs. Also, you will support in the implementation and further use of our internal model.

Who you are

You are a strong communicator and dedicated team player, able to explain complex topics clearly to senior management and colleagues across the organisation. You liked to be challenged in a dynamic environment. You have a leading and result-driven mindset. You also have:

• You currently live in the Netherlands
• A Master’s degree in econometrics, actuarial science, quantitative finance or a relevant technical background
• At least 5 years of proven experience in risk modelling, preferably experience in development of financial / market risk models
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills, a good understanding of Solvency II and related Internal Models for the insurance industry
• Modelling skills and an eagerness to develop these skills further. Experience with data management is also relevant for the role
• Experience with programming and / or AI is a plus

You will join the PIM Coordination Team, which is part of the Risk Models & Analytics (RM&A) department at NN Group’s Risk organisation. This team acts as an overarching development and internal consultancy team (“Flying Squad”) for NN Group’s Internal Model. You will work in an international, highly motivated and results-driven team, with an open, collaborative and informal atmosphere.
