Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Design Engineer/Principal Electrical Design Engineer to primarily support the RQ-4 USAF programs as part of the Lab Design and Operations team within our Test and Evaluation Organization. This position will be onsite in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Candidate will Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

This role may be filled at a Electronic Engineer 2 or 3 based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications Electrical Engineer – (T02):
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of work related experience in electrical wiring design or 0 years with Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, or 0 years with a PhD.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical Design tool or other Electrical design tool.
• Experience in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and produce cable assembly BTP’s (Build to Package’s)
• Experience with test equipment, such as, o-scope, spec-an, power supplies, etc.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and design documentation
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Basic Qualifications Principal Electrical Engineer – (T03):
• Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering and 5 years of work related experience in electrical wiring design or 3 years with Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical Design tool or other Electrical design tool.
• Experience in Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and produce cable assembly BTP’s (Build to Package’s)
• Experience with test equipment, such as, o-scope, spec-an, power supplies, etc.
• Experience reading electrical schematics and design documentation
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Preferred Qualifications:
• MS Electrical Engineering
• Experience with test station design and development
• Experience with creating and maintaining BOMs (Bill of Materials)
• Experience developing and executing ATPs (Acceptance Test Procedures)
• Experienced AutoCAD Electrical Designer
• Manufacturing/liaison support experience is also desired to support build and installation of assemblies as well as testing of aircraft systems.
• Familiar using SAE AS 50881 (Mil-5088), additional MIL specs and proven commercial practices.
• Understanding of test engineering concepts
• Knowledge of networks and Microsoft computer skills are required.
