    HVAC Service Technician

    Pay: $20.00-35.00 per hour

    Location: Vestal, NY (Binghamton Area)

    Responsibilities:

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential and/or commercial HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal inspections to ensure optimal system performance and reliability.
    • Install, replace, and commission HVAC equipment, components, and controls according to manufacturer specifications and local codes.
    • Inspect electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant systems to identify issues and recommend effective solutions.
    • Test system performance using specialized diagnostic tools and adjust equipment for maximum efficiency.
    • Respond promptly to service calls and emergency repairs while maintaining a high level of customer service.
    • Explain repair options, maintenance recommendations, and system operation to customers in a clear and professional manner.
    • Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Maintain compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
    • Handle refrigerants in accordance with EPA regulations and environmental guidelines.
    • Maintain inventory of service vehicle parts, tools, and equipment to ensure job readiness.
    • Collaborate with team members, dispatchers, and management to coordinate service schedules and customer needs.
    • Identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades, and energy-efficiency enhancements.
    • Stay current on HVAC technologies, products, and industry best practices through ongoing training.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment at customer locations and company facilities.

    Job Qualifications:

    • At least 1 year of HVAC experience required
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • EPA 1, 2, or universal preferred
    • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required
    • Excellent written, verbal, and active listening skills
    • Exceptional customer service skills
    • Technical knowledge
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work individually and as part of a team

    The starting base range for this position is $20.00 to $35.00 an hour. This is the range of the base pay only; it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
