    Job description

    The Payroll Processor works closely with HR, Finance, HR Technology, employees and ADP to resolve payroll issues, investigate payroll exceptions, validate payroll results, and ensure accurate payroll outputs including payslips, banking files, and payroll reporting.
    This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage multiple payrolls while maintaining compliance with company policies and local statutory requirements.

    Reporting directly to the Payroll Pod Lead, the Payroll Processor is responsible for performing payroll transactions throughout the payroll lifecycle, ensuring payroll data is processed accurately, payroll controls are followed, and all activities are completed within agreed payroll calendars and service level agreements.

    Responsibilities

    • Execute end-to-end payroll processing activities for assigned countries from pre-payroll through post-payroll activities.

    • Prepare payroll inputs including earnings, deductions, taxes, allowances, bonuses, adjustments, and off-cycle payments.

    • Review payroll exceptions and coordinate with HR, managers, employees, HR Technology, and ADP to resolve payroll issues.

    • Perform payroll calculations using ADP payroll systems.

    • Generate and review payroll variance reports and investigate discrepancies prior to payroll finalization.

    • Execute final payroll calculations and validate payroll accuracy prior to approval.

    • Process off-cycle payrolls including reversals, corrections, underpayments, overpayments, and replacement payments.

    • Generate payroll reports and supporting documentation required throughout the payroll cycle.

    • Validate payroll outputs including bank files, payroll reports, payslips, and General Ledger files before submission to the Pod Lead.

    • Support payroll close activities and ensure payroll processing is completed according to country-specific payroll calendars.

    • Generate and distribute payslips and payroll reports in accordance with established procedures

    • Follow documented payroll procedures, country-specific work instructions, and payroll checklists.

    • Ensure payroll transactions comply with company policies and local statutory requirements.

    • Maintain accuracy and completeness of payroll records and supporting documentation.

    • Assist with payroll audits by providing documentation and supporting evidence as requested.

    • Maintain historical payroll records in accordance with company retention requirements.

    • Escalate payroll risks, compliance issues, or processing delays to the Payroll Pod Lead.

    • Ensure all the tickets received via Payroll ticketing system are reviewed/ actioned & closed.
    • Payroll data received from HRIS, Timekeeping, and other upstream systems.
    • Assist in testing payroll system updates and configuration changes.
    • Support payroll integrations by identifying and reporting interface issues.
    • Maintain high levels of data accuracy within payroll systems.
    • Participate in payroll system testing for new functionality or legislative updates as required.
    • Work closely with ADP payroll teams during payroll processing.
    • Provide information required for ADP service requests and payroll issue resolution.
    • Support payroll inquiries from employees, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders.
    • Communicate payroll processing issues or delays promptly to the Payroll Pod Lead.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
    • Ability to prioritize workload under tight payroll deadlines.
    • Demonstrates accountability and ownership of assigned payrolls.
    • Maintains confidentiality of payroll and employee information.

    • Strong knowledge of payroll processing principles and payroll controls.
    • High level of attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy.
    • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including data validation and reconciliation.
    • Experience using payroll systems and HR technology platforms.
    • Ability to investigate payroll discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
    • Multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines.

    Qualifications

    • 2 - 5 years working in a payroll processing environment, ideally supporting multi country
    • Experience working within a shared services or payroll processing centre environment
    • Experience working with ADP or similar partner vendor
    • Working knowledge of payroll legislation, payroll controls, taxation and statutory requirements.
    • Proficient English Language, written and verbal.
