Sr. Accountant

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company policies.
• Ensure accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all accounts are reconciled and up to date.
• Prepare management reports including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and variance analysis.

2. Project Accounting & Cost Control

• Monitor project costs, revenue recognition, and profitability for ongoing construction projects.
• Review project budgets, cost-to-complete reports, and financial forecasts.
• Coordinate with project managers to validate cost allocations, material consumption, and subcontractor payments.
• Ensure accurate tracking of WIP (Work in Progress) and project billing cycles.

3. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management

• Oversee AP/AR processes including invoice verification, payment processing, and collection follow-ups.
• Review supplier and subcontractor invoices for accuracy and compliance with contracts.
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely settlement of dues and collection of receivables.
• Resolve discrepancies with vendors, clients, and internal teams.

4. Payroll & Employee Cost Management

• Review monthly payroll, allowances, overtime, and deductions in coordination with HR.
• Ensure compliance with UAE labor laws, WPS requirements, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate employee cost allocations to projects.

5. Taxation, Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and filing of VAT returns.
• Maintain proper documentation for tax audits and regulatory inspections.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and provide required schedules and reports.
• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.

6. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Monitor daily cash flow, bank balances, and liquidity requirements.
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and advise management on funding needs.
• Manage bank reconciliations, LC/LD processes, and financial facilities.

7. Systems, Processes & Team Support

• Support the implementation and optimization of ERP/accounting systems.
• Train and supervise junior accountants and ensure adherence to accounting standards.
• Develop and improve financial processes, documentation, and reporting templates.
• Assist management with financial analysis for decision-making.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent are highly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in the construction/contracting industry.
• Strong understanding of project accounting, cost control, and construction financial cycles.
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar).

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT regulations, and financial controls.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem‑solving skills.
• High proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
• Strong organizational and supervisory abilities.

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial reports.
• Compliance with VAT, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Efficiency in managing AP/AR and cash flow.

• Quality of project cost tracking and reporting.
• Effectiveness in supporting management decisions.
