    Job description

Descend into Devil May Care, an intimate lounge where dining and bottle service meet unique cocktails, Mediterranean-inspired plates, and live music. With a commitment to quality and ingredients free of seed oils and refined sugars, every experience feels fresh and memorable.

We are seeking a highly skilled, charismatic, and hospitality-driven Server to join our team. At Devil May Care, you will help create a collaborative workplace where team members support one another and take genuine ownership in delivering a meaningful, high-standard guest experience in a fast-paced environment.

    Guest Service & Lead Role

    • Consistently deliver an approachable, refined hospitality experience and model leadership on the floor.

    • Maintain attentiveness to guests and team members throughout the shift.

    • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of food and beverage menus; accurately answer questions and recommend cocktails or alternatives.

    • Take food and beverage orders accurately, paying close attention to special requests and dietary restrictions.

    • Oversee all aspects of table service, including tableside service, serving food, wine, and cocktails.

    • Input all orders into the POS system accurately and efficiently.

    • Engage in active listening and clear communication with guests and teammates.

    • Adapt to adjustments on the fly and collaborate to clear service bottlenecks ("the weeds").

    Pre-Shift Setup & Floor Readiness

    • Verify the floor is set to schematic — tabletops, seating, menus, and amenities.

    • Confirm POS terminals, printers, and card readers are online and that menus, features, and the 86 list are loaded.

    • Verify front of house par levels: glassware, linen, menus, check presenters, and printer paper.

    • Post the floor plan and section assignments as directed by the Manager on Duty.

    • Assist pre-shift: features, 86s, reservations, large parties, and VIPs.

    Training & Onboarding

    • Train new Servers through the assigned training program, including day-by-day content and shadow shifts.

    • Verify training and certification sign-off items and submit completed records to management.

    • Deliver refresher training on menu changes, new SOPs, and POS updates.

    • Serve as the first point of reference on the floor for menu, POS, and procedure questions.

    Closing Duties & Operations

    • Confirm sections, stations, and floors are reset to standard for the overnight clean and the next open.

    • Secure front of house stock; return keys, drawers, and check presenters per procedure.

    • Complete the front of house closing report and hand off to the Manager on Duty.

    • Secure and lock the venue per closing procedure.

    • Perform opening and closing side work consistently.

    • Monitor, restock, and replenish service item par levels, inventory, and supplies.

    • Maintain work area compliance with all local health codes at all times

    Requirements

    • Experience: 1+ years of serving experience in a high-volume, fine dining restaurant preferred.

    • Certifications: Valid TABC Certification and Food Handlers Certification required prior to start date.

    • Interpersonal Skills: Outgoing personality, polished and professional demeanor, dynamic, and hospitality-driven attitude.

    • Work Style: Highly organized, strong multitasking abilities, comfortable receiving and delivering constructive feedback.

    • Language: Excellent communication skills; must read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.

    Compensations & Investing In You

    • Competitive Compensation: Hourly rate plus gratuities.

    • Comprehensive Health Coverage: Full medical, dental, and vision insurance plans available for you and your family.

    • Financial Wellness: Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options for healthcare savings.

    • Holistic Wellness: Initiatives supporting physical and mental well-being.

    • Austin Commuter Perks: Dedicated on-site parking spaces and discounted transit passes.

    • Dining Discounts: Team discounts across all company restaurant concepts.

    Physical Demands & Working Environment

    • Movement: Standing and walking for a minimum of 8 hours per shift; constantly in motion.

    • Physical Capability: Ability to twist, push, pull, reach, bend, climb, and carry objects; must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

    • Environment: Fast-paced, high-volume indoor and outdoor service areas subject to bright lights, high noise levels, and seasonal weather variations.

    • Stress Resilience: Observant and quick to respond under high-pressure or stressful situations.

    • Work in loud, dimly lit and crowded conditions with sustained high noise levels.
    • Work indoors and outdoors with exposure to heat, cold, and wet surfaces; some work areas are narrow, with roughly three feet of access.
    • Climb stairs repeatedly; bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, and grasp. Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
