Known as "Cape Breton's front porch," Port Hawkesbury is a close knit and picturesque community located on the north shore of the Strait of Canso on Cape Breton Island. Home to a 10 kilometre all-season trail system called the Port Hawkesbury Trail System, people of all skill level and ability can discover a wide variety of plants and wildlife through majestic hardwood stands, softwood forests, and along gently flowing brooks and streams. In the winter, enjoy the surrounding scenery by cross-country skiing!
