    Job description

    Yarmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a full-time Obstetrician/Gynecologist.  Join Nova Scotia's thriving healthcare ecosystem, where your expertise is valued and your contributions drive innovative, compassionate care for generations to come.

    Responsibilities

    • full scope of practice as an obstetrician/gynecologist providing care to the patients within Western Zone
    • participating in call and able to respond to urgent matters within 20 minutes of being called
    • provide support to your own site but also to others in the Western Zone if required, which will include day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
    • responsible to the Zone Department Head for Obstetrics & Gynecologist for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
    • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of Nova Scotia Health Authority.
    • Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities.

    Expected Hours

    • Permanent Full-Time
    • 37.5 hours/week
    • 46 of 52 weeks/year
    • On Call Participation - 1:4

    Remuneration

    • $451,604 CAD Annually
    • Alternative Payment Plan (APP) - Specialty
    • on-call stipends and other incentives are available through the Physician Agreement between the Province of Nova Scotia and Doctors Nova Scotia.

    Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) was originally founded in 1912 and has developed into a vast health care complex serving the 60,000 people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties. Located in Yarmouth, YRH has 124 inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs.

    Yarmouth Regional Hospital

    • All applicants must be eligible for certification by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC)
    • All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
    • Coverage with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA), or proof of alternative coverage.
