In this role, you will serve as a payroll systems expert, supporting multi-state and multi-country payroll processes while driving system enhancements, leading key payroll projects, and identifying opportunities to improve operational excellence. You'll collaborate with teams across Finance, Human Resources, and Payroll to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time while supporting strategic business initiatives.
The role & your impact
As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining payroll systems, supporting payroll accounting and compliance activities, leading payroll-related initiatives, and driving process improvements. This role combines operational excellence, technical expertise, and project leadership to help ensure payroll accuracy and compliance while supporting organizational growth.
Your key responsibilities in this role
- Maintain payroll systems and interfaces, including Ceridian Dayforce, Time & Attendance, and HRDE platforms.
- Ensure data accuracy across payroll and connected systems.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues while providing exceptional support across all organizational levels.
- Serve as the functional expert for payroll accounting, compliance, and payroll-related controls.
- Review system configurations and payroll processes to identify enhancement opportunities and optimize performance.
- Coordinate payroll exception processing, reconciliations, and accounting activities, including SAP-to-payroll reconciliations and variance corrections.
- Lead and support annual payroll projects, including workers' compensation, 401(k), QMS activities, and audits.
- Participate in strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, tax-related projects, and payroll system implementations.
- Safeguard confidential payroll information and maintain strict confidentiality standards.
- Support continuous improvement efforts and operational excellence initiatives across payroll functions.
What you'll need to be successful in this role
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred with a minimum of five years of relevant payroll processing experience in a medium-sized organization (500+ employees).
- In lieu of a degree, ten years of progressive hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processing, accounting, and compliance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong customer service mindset with a commitment to supporting employees and stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Additional skills & interests we value
While not required, the following experience would be advantageous:
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce payroll systems.
- Experience supporting multi-state and multi-country payroll environments.
- Payroll project management experience.
- Knowledge of SAP integrations and reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting acquisitions, system implementations, or large-scale process improvements.
- Continuous improvement mindset focused on efficiency and operational excellence.
- Experience working within quality management systems and audit environments.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually.
