Principal IT Project Manager

Lead complex IT and digital transformation initiatives that create enterprise-wide impact at Novonesis. You will connect business needs with technology delivery across functions, production sites, IT teams, and external partners in a regulated environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced project manager who can set direction, align senior stakeholders, and drive execution from ideas through implementation, adoption, and value realization.

Welcome to the IT Portfolio Office

You will join a specialist team that strengthens portfolio and project delivery across Novonesis IT. Our portfolio supports production, quality, R&D, commercial operations, and corporate functions, with projects spanning SAP, infrastructure, data, integrations, cyber security, enterprise architecture, and external vendors.

You will also help raise project management standards by sharing best practices and mentoring colleagues in our Project Management Community of Practice.

In this role, you will

• Lead large, complex IT projects or programmes end to end, from initiation through implementation and value realization.
• Build pragmatic governance, plans, budgets, reporting, and risk, issue, and dependency management.
• Align business leaders, SMEs, architects, delivery teams, vendors, and executive governance forums around clear decisions and priorities.
• Drive execution across business processes, systems, data, infrastructure, security, and compliance requirements.
• Remove obstacles, manage cross-project dependencies, and ensure solutions are adopted and transitioned into sustainable operations.
• Strengthen project management practices and build trust through transparency, accountability, and consistent delivery.

To Succeed in This Role, You Bring

• A master’s degree in business, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in project and programme management, with a proven track record of leading large, complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Proven experience delivering projects within regulated pharma, biotech, life sciences, or other GxP-controlled environments.
• Strong knowledge of validated systems and regulated processes, including experience working with GxP requirements.
• Experience delivering projects involving one or more of the following areas:
  • SAP and enterprise platforms
  • Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Operational Technology (OT)
  • Data and integrations
  • Infrastructure and cloud platforms
  • Cyber Security
  • Quality and compliance solutions
• A strong project management toolbox combined with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated success in driving alignment, ownership, and execution across large and diverse stakeholder groups.
• The ability to communicate effectively with everyone from technical specialists and architects to senior leadership and executive governance forums.
• A self-driven, pragmatic, and hands-on mindset. You take accountability for outcomes and understand that successful project leadership requires both strategic thinking and operational execution.
• The ability to create followership and achieve results through collaboration, influence, and trust rather than formal authority.
• A positive, pragmatic and collaborative mindset that makes stakeholders and colleagues want to work with you again.

Additional Expectations for Principal-Level Candidates

For Principal IT Project Manager candidates, we additionally expect:

• Significant experience leading large programmes consisting of multiple interdependent projects.
• The ability to influence strategic IT and business decisions beyond a single project or programme.
• Experience building organisational delivery capabilities and improving project management practices.
• A strong track record of mentoring project managers and acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
• The ability to navigate highly complex stakeholder landscapes and drive decisions across organisational boundaries.
